Are you polluted?

www.ewg.org/reports/bodyburden/es.php

In a study led by Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, in collaboration with the Environmental Working Group and Commonweal, researchers at two major laboratories found an average of 91 industrial compounds, pollutants, and other chemicals in the blood and urine of nine volunteers, with a total of 167 chemicals found in the group. Like most of us, the people tested do not work with chemicals on the job and do not live near an industrial facility.

Scientists refer to this contamination as a person’s body burden. Of the 167 chemicals found, 76 cause cancer in humans or animals, 94 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 79 cause birth defects or abnormal development. The dangers of exposure to these chemicals in combination has never been studied.

i think that if you actually knew all that was wrong and polluted you might just lose your mind and the blatant stupidity on the part of the makers of these toxins and the lack of proper government testing and restriction.
instead of dealing with important issues they distract us with the fluff news of credit reports affecting you life, abortion debate, legalizing the burning of the flag, and their blood for oil wars.

Good lord, that's scary! The sucky part is that many of these chemicals are unavoidable unless you live out in the woods all natural- which I'm not quite up for yet. Carpets, furniture and even radio alarm clocks leach chemicals into the air, rub them off on your skin, etc. I mean, even if you eat vegan organic, cook a lot for yourself, use natural remedies, etc.- it would still be very difficult to clean your environment really well.

So hey , I do what I can and try to be happy that I'm better than average about this stuff.

A lady who was 115 just died the other day. She said that one of her secrets to long life was that she never took medicines unless she really, really had to. Never took an asprin for a headache. The other secrets- vinegar and pickles- as often as possible. :)
